In November 1998 Brendan found the beaten-up wreck of a junior street stock car at his school. The school ended up giving it to him, as the school mecanics class no longer had a use for it. The car was rusted and was in very poor condition. After a little convincing he was given permission by his mum (Dad helped with this!) and he was going to build a new car. So in January 1999 he and his family went to Perth to find a new car. They came home with an unroadworthy car with a good engine. He had also been given another Datsun 120Y by one of his Dad's mates.
They used the shell of the car that was given to them by Barry and Michelle Puttick (Dad's mate and his wife) and the roll cage from the school's car and the engine from the unroadworthy car from Perth and built a brand new car (featured above) in the space of about 10 months working only on weekends.
